Call Me By Your Name is an idealistic reaching-adulthood movie about the passionate relationship between Elio Perlman played by Timothee Chalamet, a 17-year-old teenager living in Italy, and an American assistant to his father, this assistant is named Oliver played by Armie Hammer. Elio Perlman is an American-Italian-Jewish boy who resides in rural Italy with his parents. Elio Perlman’s dad who is a professor of archaeology invites an American-Jewish graduate student, Oliver, to live with his family during the 1983 holiday season and assist with his academic research work. Elio is a thoughtful religious and musical genius has very little in common with Oliver who is happy-go-lucky and enthusiastic character that is very different to his own character. Elio also begrudges giving up his bedroom for the duration of Oliver’s stay in their house.
